Dr Cathal McCrory is a Research Fellow in Psychology on the Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing (TILDA) at Trinity College Dublin. His research explores the pathways, processes and mechanisms through which socially mediated risk factors come to influence health over the life-course precipitating earlier disease and mortality among those who are most socially disadvantaged. Prior to joining the TILDA, Cathal was employed as a Research Fellow on the Growing Up in Ireland study (2006-2012): a large nationally representative cohort study following the development of two cohorts of Irish children. He is a Research Affiliate of the Economic and Social Research Institute and a member of the Expert Advisory Group to the Growing Up in Ireland study.
